In Phoenix, it is an easy to grow shrub or small tree. Its thorns make it
useful for barrier planting, but prevent it to be used in a high-traffic
area.

The Cat Claw Acacia bears rod-shaped, up to 2 inches long (5 cm) fragrant
flower spikes in spring, and sometimes in the fall.
