Growth Habits: Deciduous, large shrub or small tree, fast growing up to 8 to 20 feet tall (2.4-6 m); curved spines.

Watering Needs: Drought tolerant when established, will look better if given occasional watering; drought deciduous

Propagation: Seeds that need to be scarified and soaked in water

In Phoenix, it is an easy to grow shrub or small tree. Its thorns make it useful for barrier planting, but prevent it to be used in a high-traffic area.

Blooming Habits:
The Cat Claw Acacia bears rod-shaped, up to 2 inches long (5 cm) fragrant flower spikes in spring, and sometimes in the fall.
